I am currently working with a well-established and growing law firm that is looking to appoint a Clinical Negligence Solicitor, from newly qualified upwards to join its expanding team in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor who wants to build or further develop their career in clinical negligence within a supportive, progressive and highly client-focused environment.
The firm has a strong reputation in this area and is known for its commitment to achieving meaningful outcomes for clients affected by clinical negligence.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of clinical negligence matters, with supervision and support tailored to your level of experience. The role offers exposure to a broad range of complex and high-quality work, including matters involving liability disputes, interim payments and rehabilitation focused claims.
You will work closely with medical experts, counsel and colleagues to progress claims efficiently while ensuring clients receive clear, empathetic and practical advice throughout what can be a challenging process.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of clinical negligence claims from initial instruction through to settlement or trial
Investigating claims by obtaining and analysing medical records, preparing chronologies and instructing appropriate experts
Assessing breach of duty and causation and advising clients on prospects of success
Drafting legal documentation including letters of claim and response, witness statements, expert instructions and schedules of loss
Identifying opportunities for interim payments to support early rehabilitation and care needs
Negotiating settlements to secure the best possible outcomes for clients
Attending conferences with counsel, expert meetings, mediations and hearings where required
Working collaboratively with colleagues and contributing to wider team objectives
Ensuring compliance with regulatory, procedural and data protection requirements
Supporting business development and knowledge-sharing initiatives where appropriate
About You
Qualified Solicitor
Between newly qualified and 5 years PQE
Experience in clinical negligence or a related personal injury discipline
Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
Strong communication skills with a compassionate and client-centred approach
Comfortable working independently while contributing positively to a team environment
Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
A genuine interest in helping clients through complex and sensitive claims
