Employment Solicitor (4 years+ PQE)
Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Hybrid working available
An established and growing regional law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Employment Solicitor to play a key role in the continued development of its employment offering.
This is a senior-level opportunity suited to a commercially minded solicitor who enjoys running their own caseload while also contributing strategically to the growth of a department and the wider firm. The role reports directly to the Managing Director and offers genuine influence, autonomy and progression. The role offers genuine career development.
The Role
As Employment Solicitor, you will lead on a varied employment caseload covering both contentious and non-contentious matters. You will also be actively involved in business development and shaping the future direction of the employment team.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across the business, contribute to board-level discussions and support colleagues across other practice areas, including corporate transactional work.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a full employment caseload, advising both employers and employees
Playing a visible role in developing and growing the firms employment offering
Building and maintaining strong client relationships, delivering pragmatic and commercially focused advice
Working collaboratively across departments to support a positive, cohesive culture
Monitoring financial performance, resourcing and workflow using case management and reporting systems
Taking responsibility for departmental budgeting, WIP and billing forecasts
Supporting and mentoring colleagues, sharing knowledge and contributing to training initiatives
Working closely with compliance and finance teams to drive continuous improvement and high client service standards
About You
Qualified Solicitor (or equivalent)
Ideally 4 years+ PQE specialising in employment law
Confident running an employment caseload independently
Commercially aware with a client-focused approach
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at senior level
Organised, practical and calm under pressure
Comfortable using IT systems, including case management software and Microsoft Office
