Family Law Paralegal (Care Work)

A well-established law firm is looking to recruit a Family Law Paralegal to join its busy and supportive family team in Liverpool.
This role sits within a large team and will involve supporting senior fee earners with a high-volume caseload, predominantly focused on Care proceedings. It is an excellent opportunity for an experienced paralegal who enjoys working in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include:
- Opening and managing files
- Providing day-to-day support to the family law team
- Updating clients on case progress
- Communicating with courts, experts and external agencies
- Diary management and appointment scheduling
- Taking and making client and third-party calls
- Preparing court bundles and documentation for hearings
- Attending court to assist counsel and/or clients
- Carrying out legal aid assessments and applications
- Taking client appointments and initial instructions
- Providing general legal and administrative support
About You:
- The successful candidate will:
- Be proactive, organised and ready to get involved
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well within a collaborative team environment
- Be flexible and able to manage competing priorities
- Have excellent time management skills
- Ideally have at least 12 months experience within a family law team
- Have experience using Case Management Systems and Laserforms (essential)
- Have experience using the Legal Aid Agency portal (CCMS) (essential)
- Have experience using Excel spreadsheets (desirable)
Working Arrangements
This role is based in the firms Liverpool city office. Hybrid working may be available following successful completion of the probationary period. Long-term, the role will require office-based working for at least part of the week.
