I am currently working with a well-established and expanding law firm that is looking to recruit an experienced Housing Disrepair Solicitor or Fee Earner to join its Liverpool-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is genuinely passionate about housing disrepair work, committed to delivering a high level of client care and motivated by achieving strong results.
The firm is open to candidates with either claimant or defendant experience and will also consider experienced fee earners or paralegals who have a proven track record of managing their own caseload of pre- and post-litigated housing disrepair matters. Experience in personal injury would be advantageous, although it is not essential.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of housing disrepair files with a high degree of autonomy, handling matters from initial instruction through to settlement. The work will include a mix of small claims, fast-track and multi-track cases, including more complex matters.
This role would suit someone who enjoys responsibility, works well to targets and thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent standards of client care.
Key Responsibilities
Managing a caseload of pre- and post-litigated housing disrepair claims
Handling matters from instruction through to settlement with full autonomy
Drafting and dealing with interlocutory applications
Managing small claims, fast-track and multi-track cases, including complex matters
Liaising with counsel and providing clear, comprehensive instructions where required
Negotiating effectively to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients
Ensuring compliance with the CPR and relevant housing conditions case law
Maintaining a consistently high level of client care throughout the lifecycle of each case
About You
Previous housing disrepair experience is essential
Confident managing your own caseload independently
Target-driven while maintaining exceptional client service standards
Strong telephone manner and communication skills
Excellent problem-solving and negotiation ability
Sound knowledge of the CPR and housing conditions case law
Able to work efficiently as part of a team and on your own initiative
