Our client is seeking a Planning Senior Associate to join their esteemed Manchester planning team. This national team is an integral part of the firms Real Estate division. As a Planning Senior Associate, you will be joining a dynamic and forward-thinking firm that values expertise and collaboration.
In this planning rolr, you will engage in a comprehensive range of planning work. Your responsibilities will include providing strategic planning advice, conducting legal reviews of planning applications, advising on Community Infrastructure Levy and planning obligations, handling planning appeals and inquiries, and managing enforcement issues. Additionally, you will support clients affected by major and nationally significant infrastructure projects. The role also involves collaborating with the real estate, corporate, and projects teams on due diligence matters.

- Proven experience in planning law, ideally gained in private practice within a Manchester, London, or large regional firm, or local authority.
- A degree and A levels or equivalent.
- Strong technical knowledge and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in written English with the ability to produce clear, logical drafting.
- Effective negotiating skills and numeracy.
- IT literacy and good research skills, including the use of online information sources.
- Lateral thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Enthusiasm for building and strengthening relationships with clients and their advisors.
- Flexibility to work with multiple team members and effective time and matter management.
- A proactive team player with drive and commitment to see tasks through.
- An enthusiasm for marketing and developing the practice is essential.
- Advocacy skills are desirable but not essential.
