I am currently working with a well-established and traditional high street law firm in Liverpool city centre who are looking to recruit an experienced Personal Injury Fee Earner to join their growing Personal Injury department.
The role will involve running a mature caseload of both litigated and non-litigated Fast Track Personal Injury matters from the firm's city centre office, handling files from initial instruction through to conclusion.
The role will include:
- Managing a caseload of litigated and non-litigated Fast Track Personal Injury files
- Taking initial instructions from clients and providing clear advice
- Interviewing and regularly updating clients
- Drafting witness statements and legal documents
- Preparing instructions to experts and counsel
- Valuing general and special damages
- Making applications and undertaking advocacy at hearings where appropriate
- Instructing experts and negotiating settlements
- Concluding matters, including costs and billing
- Processing new claims via the MOJ Portal
- Demonstrating strong working knowledge of the CPR and Portal procedures
- Arranging and explaining conditional fee agreements and other funding methods
- Attending court hearings, with and without counsel, as required
- Managing own administrative tasks, including filing, typing, and preparing trial bundles
- Maintaining accurate case files and records
- Working to deadlines and in line with internal procedures and SRA requirements
- Actively contributing to the continued development of the Personal Injury department
