An opportunity for an experienced family lawyer to play a central role in establishing and growing a new office presence in Chester, supported by an established regional team.
This is a position with clear scope. You'll join a well-regarded full-service firm with an existing family offering and take a leading role in building out the Chester platform from an early stage.
About the firm
This is a long-standing regional firm with a strong reputation across its core practice areas, particularly within private client and family work. The wider family team is already established and well regarded, providing a solid foundation as the firm expands into Chester.
The approach is structured but not rigid, with an emphasis on client care, collaboration, and consistent delivery.
Role overview
You'll handle a broad range of private family matters, including divorce, financial remedy work, children matters, and cohabitation disputes. Alongside your own caseload, you'll contribute to the development of the Chester office, working closely with colleagues across the wider team.
There is a clear expectation that you'll help build relationships locally, both with clients and referrers, and support the long-term growth of the offering in the area. You'll also play a part in mentoring more junior lawyers and contributing to a cohesive team environment.
This role sits at an important point in the firm's growth, with the opportunity to influence how the Chester presence develops over time.
Candidate profile
Likely to suit a family solicitor with around 5+ PQE, although this is a guide rather than a strict requirement.
You'll have solid experience across private family work and be comfortable managing your own caseload independently. An ability to build relationships, handle sensitive matters with care, and contribute to business development will be important.
Candidates with an existing local network in or around Chester may find this particularly relevant, but this is not essential.
Offer and benefits
Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and a comprehensive benefits package including hybrid working.
