Wills and Probate / Private Client Paralegal
Location: Newcastle Under Lyme, Staffordshire
Experience Required: Minimum 2 years' Private Client experience
I'm currently working with a well-established and respected law firm in Staffordshire that is looking to recruit an experienced Wills and Probate / Private Client Paralegal to join its busy and growing Private Client team.
This is a great opportunity for a paralegal who already has solid private client experience and is looking to work within a supportive, collaborative environment with exposure to high-quality work.
The Role
You will support solicitors and fee earners on a varied private client caseload, including:
- Wills, probate and estate administration matters
- Drafting wills, trusts, deeds of variation and other private client documents under supervision
- Assisting with estate administration, including gathering information, liaising with beneficiaries and third parties, and preparing estate accounts
- Supporting probate applications and inheritance tax returns
- Communicating with clients in a professional, empathetic and sensitive manner
- Managing files in line with regulatory and internal requirements, including AML and Data Protection
- Using case management systems to ensure accurate file management
- Supporting time recording, billing and general financial administration
About You
To be considered, you will ideally have:
- A relevant legal qualification (law degree, LPC, SQE or equivalent)
- At least 2 years' experience as a Paralegal within Wills, Probate or Private Client
- Hands-on experience with estate administration, wills and probate applications
- A good understanding of private client processes, including trusts and inheritance tax
- Strong drafting and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- A client-focused, empathetic approach and strong communication skills
- The ability to manage a busy workload and work well as part of a team
