An established law firm is recruiting an experienced Residential Property Solicitor to take over an existing caseload, working four days a week in Chester and one day in Liverpool. The department has strong introducer relationships, experienced support staff and no individual fee-earning targets.
About the team
The residential property department operates across Chester and Liverpool, with paralegal and administrative support in both offices. Work comes through established relationships with estate agents, mortgage brokers and other introducers.
The Head of Department is taking on responsibility for both offices. This appointment will allow her to spend more time managing the teams, supporting junior colleagues and developing the department.
The role
You'll take responsibility for an established residential conveyancing caseload, handling matters independently from instruction through to completion. The work is predominantly standard residential transactions, with the Chester team also undertaking new-build and house-builder work.
There's an existing flow of instructions, so you'll be joining with work available and support around you. The emphasis is on managing matters well and providing a reliable service to clients and introducers.
About you
You'll be a qualified solicitor with substantial residential conveyancing experience and the technical confidence to manage your own caseload without significant supervision.
The firm is flexible on seniority. Your ability to handle the work independently and contribute to the team matters more than a particular number of years' PQE.
Salary and working arrangements
The salary is £50,000-£60,000, depending on experience. The role is based in Chester four days a week, with one day a week in Liverpool.
You'll have paralegal and administrative support within a department that does not operate individual fee-earning targets.
