Senior private client role in Chester, working closely with the head of department on a well-established caseload with consistent demand. The role has come about due to sustained workflow and the need for an experienced lawyer to take on more complex matters, support junior colleagues, and contribute to the ongoing development of the team.
About the Firm
This is a well-established regional practice with a stable private client team and a strong base of repeat and referred work. The department handles a broad mix of matters and is structured around long-term client relationships, with a steady flow of instructions rather than reliance on short-term volume.
Role Overview
You’ll manage a varied caseload covering wills, probate, estate administration, LPAs, and Court of Protection work, with the scope to take on more complex matters as part of the senior team. Alongside fee-earning, you’ll take responsibility for maintaining financial performance through effective time recording, billing, and cash collection. The role also involves working closely with the head of department on the direction and development of the team, supporting junior lawyers where appropriate, and contributing to business development through building and maintaining client relationships.
Candidate Profile
Likely to suit a private client solicitor with around 7+ PQE. You’ll have strong technical experience across core private client work and be comfortable managing relationships directly with clients. This role will suit someone organised, detail-focused, and confident balancing autonomy with collaboration, particularly where there is an expectation to support others and contribute to team growth.
