This is an opportunity for an insolvency solicitor with around four years' PQE or more to join a well-established insolvency and restructuring team in Manchester. The role sits within a broader disputes practice and offers a genuine mix of contentious and non-contentious insolvency work, with scope to run matters and build long-term client relationships.

About the firm
This is a full-service UK law firm with a strong national presence and a collaborative, inclusive culture. The Manchester office is well embedded within the wider firm and works closely with colleagues across the UK on complex, high-quality matters.

Role overview

  • You'll advise office holders, directors, lenders and other stakeholders on a broad range of insolvency and restructuring issues.
  • The work includes insolvency litigation such as breach of duty claims and transactions at undervalue.
  • You'll also act on distressed business and asset sales, working closely with colleagues in other practice areas where needed.
  • There's responsibility for managing your own caseload as appropriate, with partner support on more complex matters.
  • You'll be encouraged to develop client relationships, particularly with insolvency practitioners and referrers, and to contribute to business development activity in a measured, relationship-led way.

Candidate profile

  • This role is likely to suit a qualified solicitor with around four years' PQE or above as a guide.
  • You'll have experience across contentious and non-contentious insolvency or restructuring matters.
  • You should be comfortable handling files with a degree of autonomy and taking a practical, commercial approach.
  • Strong communication skills and a genuine interest in building long-term client relationships are important.

Offer and benefits

  • Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
  • The firm offers a supportive working environment with access to high-quality work, clear supervision and long-term development opportunities.
  • Further benefits will be discussed at conversation stage.
