Family Law Paralegal (Care) - Wirral - £23,000
We are currently working with a well established law firm that is looking to recruit a Paralegal to join their busy Family Law team based on the Wirral.
This is a great opportunity to join a large and supportive team, assisting senior fee earners with a busy caseload that is predominantly Care work.
The role will involve:
- Opening new client files
- Providing day to day support to senior fee earners within the team
- Updating clients on case progress
- Communicating with courts, experts and external agencies
- Arranging appointments and managing diaries
- Taking and making client calls
- Preparing bundles of documents for hearings
- Meeting with clients both in person and remotely where required
- Carrying out Legal Aid assessments and applications
- Taking initial client instructions
- Attending court to assist counsel and/or clients
- Providing general legal and administrative support
The successful candidate will:
- Ideally have at least 12 months experience within a Family Law team
- Be proactive and confident working in a busy environment
- Have excellent organisational and time management skills
- Be able to prioritise and manage a heavy workload
- Work well as part of a collaborative team
- Have experience using Case Management Systems and Laserforms (essential)
- Have experience using the Legal Aid Agency Portal (CCMS) (essential)
- Experience using Excel spreadsheets would be advantageous
The position offers:
- Salary of £23,000
