An established regional law firm is looking to appoint a Dispute Resolution Solicitor from NQ to around 2 PQE to join its Shrewsbury team.
This is a good opportunity for a junior solicitor who wants to build a long-term career in commercial litigation, with exposure to a varied caseload and the chance to work alongside experienced senior solicitors and partners.
About the Firm
The Dispute Resolution team is recognised by The Legal 500 and has an established client base across a broad range of commercial and property disputes.
The team offers a partner-led approach, giving junior lawyers access to experienced colleagues while allowing them to take on greater responsibility as their experience develops.
Role Overview
- Manage a varied caseload of commercial disputes with appropriate supervision.
- Advise on contractual and shareholder disputes.
- Gain experience of professional negligence and debt recovery matters.
- Work on property litigation alongside broader commercial disputes.
- Assist senior solicitors and partners with complex and high-value litigation.
- Develop direct relationships with clients and other professional advisers.
- Get involved in networking, articles and wider business development activity.
Candidate Profile
Likely to suit a Dispute Resolution Solicitor from NQ to around 2 PQE as a guide.
Previous commercial litigation experience would be useful. For newly qualified solicitors, the firm will consider candidates who have completed at least one litigation seat during their training contract.
You'll need to be comfortable managing competing deadlines, communicating directly with clients and taking responsibility for progressing matters with the support of the wider team.
The role should particularly suit someone who has decided to specialise in commercial dispute resolution and wants a broad grounding rather than being restricted to one type of litigation.
