An established regional law firm is looking to make a senior appointment into its Employment team in Chester, with the opportunity open to an experienced Senior Associate or Partner.

This is a role for someone who wants influence over the development of an employment practice, combining high-quality client work with relationship development, leadership and a meaningful role in the team's future direction.

About the Firm

The firm has an established employment practice advising businesses and individuals across a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters.

The firm is looking to strengthen its senior employment capability in Chester, giving the successful candidate the opportunity to develop their own practice while working closely with colleagues across the wider business.

Role Overview

  • Handle a varied caseload of contentious and non-contentious employment matters.
  • Advise employers and senior individuals on complex employment issues.
  • Take responsibility for developing and maintaining key client relationships.
  • Play an active role in business development and the continued growth of the employment practice.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues across other practice areas to develop opportunities with existing clients.
  • Provide supervision, guidance and technical support to more junior lawyers.
  • Have a genuine voice in the longer-term development of the team.

Candidate Profile

This is a senior appointment and is likely to suit an established Employment Senior Associate or Partner.

You'll need strong technical employment law experience alongside the commercial judgement and confidence to manage senior client relationships independently.

The firm is also looking for someone who enjoys developing relationships and wants to play an active part in growing the practice, rather than focusing exclusively on their own caseload.

Offer and Benefits

Competitive salary and benefits package, dependent on experience and level.

The firm offers flexible working arrangements alongside 24 days' annual leave, bank holidays, three additional paid closure days over Christmas and New Year, a birthday day off, private healthcare, enhanced family leave and employer pension contributions.
