Location: Newcastle Under Lyme

I'm currently working with a well-established and growing law firm in Staffordshire that is looking to recruit a Litigation Solicitor to join its busy Civil and Commercial Litigation team.
This role would suit a solicitor with a solid grounding in litigation who is confident managing their own caseload and is keen to play an active role in the continued growth of a litigation department.
The Role:
You will manage a varied litigation caseload from instruction through to resolution, with work including:
- Contract disputes, debt recovery and general civil litigation
- Landlord and tenant matters and property-related disputes
- Contested probate and TOLATA claims
- Conducting matters through all stages of the litigation process, including pre-action protocols, pleadings, disclosure, interim applications, ADR and trial preparation
- Drafting statements of case, witness statements, applications and settlement documentation
- Advising clients on strategy, risk, costs and outcomes in both routine and complex matters
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships and contributing to repeat work
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities and supporting business development initiatives
- Managing files in line with regulatory and compliance requirements, including AML, Data Protection and SRA Standards and Regulations
You will work closely with colleagues across departments and be encouraged to contribute ideas to improve processes and develop the litigation offering.
About You:
To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in England and Wales
- Around 2-3 years' PQE in civil and/or commercial litigation
- Experience managing litigation matters from inception to conclusion
- A good working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
- Experience of billing, cost management and working to financial targets
- Strong drafting, negotiation and communication skills
- A proactive, commercially aware approach with good client-handling skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and work both independently and as part of a team
