This is a genuinely flexible hire. The firm is focused on finding the right person rather than recruiting to a narrow PQE bracket, so there is scope to shape the role around your level of experience and career ambitions.
The firm has built a strong reputation across the region, with a significant proportion of work generated through long-standing client relationships, referrals and repeat instructions. The family team is well regarded for privately funded work and offers exposure to good-quality matters within a supportive and established department.
The Opportunity
You will join a busy private family team handling a broad range of work, including:
- Divorce and separation
- Financial remedy proceedings
- Complex financial settlements
- Private Children Act matters
- Cohabitation and separation issues
- Pre and post-nuptial agreements
- General private family advisory work
There is a strong financial remedy focus, but the caseload can be tailored depending on your experience and areas of interest.
Junior lawyers will work closely with senior members of the team and receive good support as they develop their own caseload. More experienced solicitors will have the autonomy to manage matters independently and the opportunity to play a wider role in client development and the continued growth of the department.
The firm is also keen to support lawyers who want to develop their profile, work towards Resolution Accreditation or progress into more senior positions over time.
Why Consider It?
This is a particularly attractive opportunity for someone who wants high-quality private family work without having to move to a larger national practice.
The firm can offer:
- An above market salary, tailored to experience
- Hybrid working and regular flexibility to work from home
- A strong overall benefits package
- Free parking
- Additional time off over Christmas and New Year
- Support with professional development and accreditation
- Good quality privately funded work
- Direct access to senior lawyers and the Head of Department
- Genuine long term progression
- A stable and well established regional firm with a strong client base
Who They Are Looking For
The firm is happy to consider candidates across a broad range of experience levels, from newly qualified solicitors through to established family lawyers.
You will ideally have some experience of privately funded family work and an interest in developing within this area.
For more junior candidates, the emphasis will be on potential, attitude and a genuine commitment to family law.
For more experienced lawyers, the firm can offer greater autonomy, responsibility and scope to contribute to the future direction of the team.
Advocacy experience and Resolution Accreditation would be advantageous but are not essential.
