This hire has arisen due to continued growth in employer instructions and an increasing Employment Tribunal caseload. The team is expanding to maintain service levels and ensure junior lawyers have the time and supervision needed to develop properly, rather than simply absorbing additional volume.
This is a respondent-focused role offering exposure to a broad mix of contentious and advisory employment work.
About the Firm
This is a well-regarded regional practice with a strong reputation across the North West. The firm is known for its approachable culture, long-standing client relationships and pragmatic, commercially grounded advice.
The employment team works closely with HR professionals, owner-managed businesses and larger regional employers, offering practical support rather than purely academic advice.
Role Overview
You will join a close-knit team spanning secretarial support through to Partner level. Day-to-day responsibilities will include:
Supporting and progressing Employment Tribunal matters, including drafting ET3 responses and preparing Early Case Assessments
Liaising directly with employer clients and the Tribunal
Assisting with Preliminary Hearings and preparing witness statements
Preparing hearing and disclosure bundles
Conducting legal research to support case strategy
Attending Tribunal hearings where required
You will work closely with senior fee earners but will be encouraged to take increasing ownership of matters as your confidence develops.
Candidate Profile
Likely to suit an NQ Solicitor up to around 2 years' PQE, or an experienced employment paralegal with at least 12 months' solid employment law exposure.
You should:
Have experience of respondent employment work
Be confident managing competing priorities
Communicate clearly with clients and colleagues
Demonstrate genuine interest in employment and HR advisory work
Show strong organisation and attention to detail
Advocacy experience would be helpful but is not essential.

Birthday day off
Private health cover
24-hour GP service
Enhanced maternity and paternity policies
