Property Lawyer - Residential Conveyancing
Location: Wirral
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent, hybrid
An established and growing law firm is seeking an experienced Property Lawyer to join its busy Residential Conveyancing team based at their Wirral office. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent professional to manage a varied caseload while playing a key role within a supportive and collaborative department.
The Role:
Reporting to the Head of Department, you will be responsible for managing a caseload of up to 100 residential conveyancing matters from instruction through to completion. You will also provide oversight and support to a Paralegal and Legal Assistant.
The caseload will primarily consist of:
Freehold, leasehold and commonhold sales and purchases
Remortgages
Transfers of equity
Equity release matters
You will be responsible for handling all aspects of the conveyancing process, including:
Investigating title and reviewing legal documentation
Raising and responding to enquiries
Drafting reports on title
Conducting searches
Preparing completion statements and completion documentation
Requesting mortgage funds
Liaising with clients, lenders, estate agents and third parties
Managing transactions through to successful completion
Assisting with post-completion matters where required
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a residential conveyancing caseload with minimal supervision
Deliver excellent client service throughout the transaction process
Develop and maintain strong relationships with introducers and business partners
Delegate and oversee work carried out by support staff
Process client onboarding and compliance requirements
Ensure files are maintained accurately using the firm's case management systems
Support colleagues within the wider department as required
Meet individual and team performance objectives
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be:
A qualified Solicitor, Licensed Conveyancer, CILEX Lawyer or equivalent
Experienced in managing residential conveyancing transactions from start to finish
Confident handling both freehold and leasehold matters
Skilled at building relationships with clients, brokers and introducers
Comfortable managing your own workload and making sound decisions
An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Highly organised and able to work effectively under pressure
Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Desirable:
Experience using Proclaim case management software
Previous experience developing referral relationships and generating business opportunities
